PEACE-MED

DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES

Conference 1 - Global Health Diplomacy for Peace: Humanitarian Healthcare Providers and Workers' Rights

The first PEACE-MED conference brings together policymakers, NGOs, academics, and health professionals to explore global health diplomacy in action, with a particular focus on the rights and protection of humanitarian healthcare workers in conflict zones (Year 1).

Conference 2 - Conflict, Health, and Resilience: Experiences from the Field

The second conference centres on field experience. Practitioners who have worked in the world’s most difficult environments share what they have learned about building health systems under pressure and how health has served as a foundation for wider recovery and resilience (Year 2).

Conference 3 - Youth in Health Diplomacy

Dedicated to engaging young leaders in peacemaking through health initiatives, this conference features interactive sessions, panel discussions, and a youth-led strategy competition to inspire the next generation of health diplomats (Year 3).

Hackathon: Health Diplomacy for Peace - Innovating Solutions for Conflict Zones

48 hours. One challenge: how do you use health to build peace in a conflict zone?

The PEACE-MED Hackathon brings together healthcare professionals, technologists, diplomats, researchers, students, and NGO practitioners for an intensive collaborative sprint. Teams work across disciplines to develop concrete tools, frameworks, or strategies that use health interventions to build trust, open access, and support communities caught between conflict and recovery (Year 3).
