PEACE-MED is a Jean Monnet Chair exploring how health can become a tool for peace in conflict-affected regions. It combines education, research, and dissemination to prepare a new generation of health professionals equipped to act as peacemakers.
A Jean Monnet Chair is a European initiative that supports university professors in teaching and researching topics related to the European Union. It is funded by the EU's Erasmus+ programme and awarded to academics for a period of three years. Its goal is to bring together the academic community, research, and policy-making, strengthening knowledge and dialogue about Europe and its role in the world. Beyond teaching, Jean Monnet Chairs organise events, seminars, and outreach activities open to the public and civil society — reflected in PEACE-MED's own activities as well.
